Vision and Mission

PrakashDeep School for the Underprivileged Children is committed to imparting quality education to the poorest of the poor children to enable them to succeed and enter the mainstream. It aims at bridging the technological gap that separates the poor and those who have easy access to modern technology in the rapidly changing modern environment.

Our long term objective and mission is to break the nexus between poverty and the lack of education which not only fosters poverty but exponentially enhances and deepens it.

In order to get these children to realize their potential, PrakashDeep has undertaken the task of bringing them to the mainstream by improving their standard of health and hygiene by providing them balanced nourishment, basic medical care and by giving them free educational facilities which are as good as those provided by regular schools at exorbitant costs to their wards.

In the years ahead, we visualise many such Green School Centres with open spaces, where classes would still be held under the trees and where children would learn by doing. The building catering to them would comprise of simple low cost structures, that would house labs and workshops, computer centers, facilities for music and dance, art and craft including an open air auditorium to stage and showcase creativity and a well equipped library. There shall be facilities for games and training for athletics. Our school building will be powered by solar and wind energy.

Dedication, commitment and transparency are the values that guide us in this venture. Awakening joy in creative learning and constant and never-ending improvement are our mottos. For the founders it is a labor of love and a source of happiness and fulfilment.

PrakashDeep believes in providing free and open environment which does not constrain children’s preference for open spaces they have been used to. Rabindranath Tagore’s Shanti Niketan is the role model we have.

Our guiding principle is Rabindranath Tagore's famous poem, Where the mind is without fear:

2019

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high

Where knowledge is free

Where the world has not been broken up into fragments

By narrow domestic walls

Where words come out from the depth of truth

Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection

Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way

Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit

Where the mind is led forward by thee

Into ever-widening thought and action

Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.
